How does buying on Cyclem work?

Buying on Cyclem is based on a simple principle: a direct transaction between individuals, facilitated by a secure platform.

Before buying: asking a question

Before any transaction:

if you have a question about an item, you can leave a public comment under the listing,
this allows you to request details without commitment.

For security reasons, private messaging is not yet available at this stage.

Payment and messaging

Once the purchase is made and the payment is validated:

private messaging automatically opens,
the buyer and seller can communicate freely (delivery, meeting, etc.).

The funds are:

securely held,
released only after the final validation of the transaction.

The 4 buying methods on Cyclem

Cyclem offers several ways to buy:

1. Direct purchase
2. Offer (negotiated purchase)
3. Auctions
4. Donation

Each method follows specific rules, explained in the dedicated questions.

Transaction tracking

You can track the status of a transaction at any time from the app:

go to the Transactions screen,
select the relevant transaction from the Ongoing transactions.

From this screen, you can:

see the current status (pending, in progress, delivered, validated, etc.),
know what the next step is,
access available actions (message, label, shipping, validation).

General principle (C2C)

The purchase constitutes a direct contract between the buyer and the seller.

Cyclem acts as:

a matchmaking platform,
a technical intermediary,
a guarantor of secure payment.

Cyclem does not sell the items and never owns them.
